Oneida City Police report several larcenies from parked, unlocked vehicles occurred overnight Friday night June 22 to Saturday morning June 23. Vehicles in the Hunt Valley area were entered and property stolen. Some property was recovered in nearby yards.
Three juveniles were caught entering and stealing from vehicles in the Cleveland Avenue area the night before on June 21 to June 22. The two incidents are not believed to be related.
Police are following up on leads and remind residents to lock their vehicles and secure valuables rather than leaving in a vehicle. Anyone that observes anything unusual or suspicious such as someone looking in vehicles, or a small group of people out in late hours while wearing clothing to hide their appearance or carrying back packs or flashlights, or loitering in an area is asked to contact police.
