Canastota Area Association of Churches news
(Canastota, NY – Aug. 2012) The Canastota Area Association of Churches annually reaches out to all local young people from age 4 through grade six to participate in a community-wide, ecumenical Vacation Bible School. This year’s program, entitled “Adventures on Promise Island,” is based on five promises of God from the Old and New Testaments.
VBS will be held nightly from Aug. 6 through 10 at the United Church, 144 W. Center St. A general opening assembly with audience participation, an interactive skit and songs will begin at 6 p.m., followed by age-appropriate classes, crafts, refreshments, music, games and a closing program until 8 p.m.
“Promise Island” will be an inspirational and educational experience for all area youngsters. For more information or to pre-register, contact director Rene Burgess of Hope Christian Fellowship at 800.294.9131. Youths may also register at the door.
The Canastota Area Association of Churches includes Believers’ Chapel of Canastota, Church of the Nazarene, Clockville Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Hope Christian Fellowship, New Beginnings Community Church, Oneida Lake Congregational Church, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Saint Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, United Church of Canastota and Whitelaw Presbyterian Church.
