(Morrisville, NY – Aug. 2012) Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read!” is in full swing; be sure to keep reading! Kids must read at least 10 hours before Saturday, Aug. 18, to be invited to our summer reading graduation; adults – just read and turn in your book reviews for a chance to win a gift basket.
Hey kids, have you been working on your mystery photo contest this year? Have you been solving our minute mystery challenges each week? If not, be sure to do so for a chance to win some great prizes at the end of summer reading.
We are having a Pajama Party Friday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m. Wear your favorite PJs and come join the fun.
Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m., we will be having fun with the Moon and Stars. Dreams happen at night, when the moon and stars come out. We’ll learn about the night sky, make constellation projectors and design our own rockets.
On Friday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday we are having a Teen Lock-in at the library. Stay up all night if you are a teen (13 and over) and watch movies, eat pizza, play Wii, tell spooky stories and, best of all, walk down to the cemetery after dark for a scavenger hunt.
You must fill out a permission slip by Monday, Aug. 6, if you wish to attend or bring a parent or guardian the night of the lock in to do it then.
Looking for something different to read? Stop in and grab our book talk group’s summer reading list and check out a few of the books they chose as great reads. See if you agree with them or not. If you have read those, visit midyorklib.org/wp/morrisville/services/new-materials/ for more ideas.
