(Verona, NY – Aug. 2012) Fred “Fritz” Scherz, Jr., Councilman on the Verona Town Board in Verona will host a bath salts/meth forum for Town of Verona residents on Monday Aug. 13 at the Verona Fire Hall (5555 Volunteer Ave.).
The forum will start at 6 p.m. and will feature a panel of area subject matter experts, featuring officials from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Frank Coots of the New York State Police, an official from Upstate Medical University, Samantha McCarthy, CPP, of the Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc., Rick Johnson, EMT, and 2nd Assistant Fire Chief of Sylvan Beach Fire Department, Bill Vineall, EMT, of Vineall Ambulance, and Ken Boone, Paramedic, of AmCare Ambulance and Prospect Ambulance.
“Unfortunately, there has been a lot of incidents lately involving people with bath salts as well as meth,” said Councilman Scherz. “Given that, I thought it would be a good idea to host an informational forum for residents of the Town of Verona, so they’d be able to learn about the dangers of these extremely dangerous drugs. Moreover, I wanted the panel of subject matter experts to be comprised of people from various professional backgrounds, so the residents
attending the forum would be able to get any of their questions on bath salts and meth answered. I want to thank the panel in advance for agreeing to take part in what I think will be a very informative and eye opening forum.”
