(Morrisville, NY – Aug. 2012) Our summer reading program, “Dream Big: Read.” is almost over. Be sure to keep reading. Kids must read at least 10 hours before Saturday, Aug. 18, to be invited to our summer reading graduation. Adults, just read and turn in your book reviews for a chance to win a gift basket.

Join us for Things That Go Bump in the Night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. Come read lots of silly books about monsters. If you could create a monster would it have three eyes? Horns? How about five slimy legs? Show us how creative you can be as we design our very own monsters.

This Friday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m., we will be having fun with Creatures of the Night. Come learn about animals that only come out to play at night. We’ll make masks and puppets, as well as a matching game for you to take home and play.

If you read at least 10 hours during our summer reading program, you are invited to our Graduation Party Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 6:30 p.m. Prizes, t-shirts, certificates and ice cream sundaes.

Join us for our Family Movie Night Friday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. We will be showing the movie “The Lorax.” Bring the family in for a sure to be new favorite. We will provide the refreshments.

We need oatmeal containers so if you have any, please drop them off to the library at your earliest convenience. We appreciate the help.

Michelle Rounds is library manager for the Morrisville Public Library. The library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
