Hamilton Public Library Names New Library Director

(Hamilton, NY – Aug. 2012) The Hamilton Public Library will welcome Hilary Virgil as its new director Oct. 1. Virgil replaces Barb Coger who has served the library for 25 years, the last 12 as director. The Library Board of Trustees’ search committee selected Virgil from a large and diverse pool of highly qualified candidates.

“Hilary’s educational background, professional experience and engaging personality make her an excellent choice as the new director,” said Sam Stradling, representing the search committee.  “Hilary will be a most able steward for our library, and Barb’s tradition of successful children’s programming will be especially well served by Hilary’s experiences.”

Virgil, a native Central New Yorker, has a strong interest in becoming a part of the Hamilton community.
