(Utica, NY – Sept. 2012) Youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to enter Utica Public Library’s 11th Annual Imagination Unlimited Youth Art Contest. Entries submitted must be the artist’s own, original, work and may be in any art format. Entries can be submitted beginning September 17, and are due to the Children’s Room by October 26. When entering the contest, please include the Title of the piece of artwork, and the artist’s Name, Age, Address, Phone Number, School and Grade on the back of the piece. If you are an art teacher submitting work from your class, please also include your name and contact information on the back of the artwork.
Prizes will be awarded in five age categories, as well as for Honorable Mention, Overall Excellence, and the Imagination Unlimited Award, given to the piece of art deemed to be the most creative by the panel of judges, which will consist of Library staff, and members of the local arts community, including artists and professors of art. The public has the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice award while it the artwork is on display in the Library’s Gallery from November 1 through November 30. Winners will be notified on November 19, and an Awards Reception will be held at the Library on Tuesday, November 27, at 6:00pm.
