Hamilton Public Library news

(Hamilton, NY – Sept. 2012) Story Time returns to Hamilton Public Library! Our weekly story times resume Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 10:30 a.m. I will welcome babies and toddlers in the Story Room this month, while older preschoolers will find guest storytellers awaiting them in the Community Room at the same time.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other families with similar-age children.

Although we have just finished tidying up after the Labor Day weekend book sale, we are happy to announce that there will be more books for sale Saturday, Sept. 15, between 9 a.m. and noon on the lawn of the Oneida Savings Bank. Bring your personal papers for shredding at the bank’s Shred Fest, and pick up some great books at bargain prices.

The library logo book bags will also be available for purchase that morning.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, there will be an information session on bath salts at Hamilton Central School. Informational pamphlets will soon be available at our library on this same topic. The information session and materials will be provided by BRiDGES, Madison County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc.

Now that our summer programs have drawn to a close, we would like to extend a special thank you to the Colgate Bookstore and all the members of the community who donated little prizes for Bibliomania.

We also would like to recognize volunteers Ryan Gannon, Lizzy Pratt and Emily Robertson. They manned the Bibliomania game board during some of our busiest times.

Barb Coger is director of the Hamilton Public Library. The library is usually open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please call the library at (315) 824-3060, during these hours for assistance. The book drop onBroad Streetis always open for your convenience. Check the library’s Facebook page for up-to-date information about programs and special events.
