(Oneida, NY – Sept. 2012) The Oneida Planning Commission held a public hearing Sept. 20 on a proposed subdivision at 240 Genesee St., zoned light industrial. The property is the former Welton Motors location.

Currently for sale, and seeking to purchase nine-tenths of an acre east of H.P. Hood is Tim Donut US Limited, Inc. for a proposed Tim Horton’s restaurant. The entire property is a little less than three acres.

During the public hearing, a State Environmental Quality Review was done and the commission entertained questions on the site plan review.

The commission agreed to table the sub-division request due to concerns raised by H.P. Hood attorneys. According to the city’s planning Director Cassie Rose, the commission needs to submit a letter that answers the attorney’s issues.

Rose said a request was placed to the state Department of Transportation – who has been involved in the project since the beginning, which was around the end of July – asking for a traffic analysis.

The commission expects to make a decision at its Oct. 18 meeting.
