Daniel Pearl World Music Days Harmony for Humanity Concerts in Cazenovia

(Cazenovia, Syracuse, NY – Oct. 2012)  Live Space Entertainment and Cazenovia College proudly present a schedule of great concerts this fall, in the Catherine Cummings Theatre at Cazenovia College, to celebrate the Daniel Pearl World Music Days.

The Daniel Pearl Foundation has been celebrating the life of the slain Wall St. Journal writer and musician by encouraging the power and joy of live music to remind us to live in peace and understanding.

Saturday, Oct. 6 will feature “Syracoustic Concert” featuring four outstanding Central New York Duos: Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman; Frenay and Lenin; Todd Hobin/Doug Monvrief; and the Kennedys.

Appearing on Friday, Oct. 12 will be Professor Louie and the Crowmatix for a special tribute to Levon Helm, Rick Danko and the Music of The Band.Special guests include the Syracuse-based Rock of Ages Horns featuring Jeff Stockham.Also appearing is Gent Treadly Duo.

Grammy-winning acoustic blues legend John Hammond takes the stage on Sunday, Oct. 21, marking fifty years of performing and sharing this uniquely American music.Local singer-guitarist Mark Hoffmann will open the show.

The very influential Blues Project will be in the house on Tuesday, Nov. 13 featuring founder Danny Kalb and Steve Katz (Blood Sweat and Tears) along with drummer Roy Blumenfeld.

Poco, one of the most successful folk-rock bands from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s with hits including “Crazy Love” will perform a very special acoustic show on Wednesday, Nov. 14, with Central New York’s own Dusty Pascal as special guest.

Great Minds Great Ideas: George H. W. Bush

(Cazenovia) In cooperation with the Cazenovia Public Library, Cazenovia College presents the October faculty Library Lecture Series “Great Minds / Great Ideas” Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., at the Cazenovia Public Library, 100 Albany St.

“George H.W. Bush: How could a president have won a war and lost a reelection?” will be presented by Dr. John Robert Greene, Paul J. Schupf professor of history and humanities.

The series features noted faculty members from Cazenovia College discussing the lives and work of important thinkers who opened doors of opportunity for the human spirit. The Great Minds/Great Ideas Library Lecture Series is made possible through the support of Doris Webster, class of 1946.
