Golf Tournament Successful

To the Editor:

(Sept. 2012) On Sept. 22 the family of Stanley “Stoch” Nodine – who died in May of colorectal cancer – held a golf tournament fundraiser to raise money for two scholarships in his name. We succeeded in doing this, but not without the help of others.

First we would like to thank Rick Quick and the entire crew at Casolwood Golf Course for allowing us to hold the tournament there and contributing prizes to the event.

The tournament would not have been possible without the golfers, who played between down pours. We thank you, and those teams who contributed money back to the scholarship fun.

We thank our friends and family who came out just for dinner and bought raffle tickets for door prizes. We appreciated your contributions and your company.

The following people contributed financially in some way to the success of the event: Kerwin’s Cakes, the Madison County Courier (M3P Media LLC), Raymondville Golf and Country Club, Carriage Creek of North Manlus LLC, Landmasters (Kim Maddox) Jennifer Nodine, Shirley Nodine, Bob and JoAnn Frink, Debbie and Paul Douglass, Nicole and Kirby Phillips, Doug and Trudy Nodine,, Doug G. Nodine and Jeff Frink.

We have selected Aug. 24, 2013 for next year’s second annual Strike Back for Stoch Golf Tournament. We hope you will join us in keeping the scholarships growing.
