(Madison, NY – Oct. 2012) The Town of Madison Historical Society is hosting a program called, “Farmers’ Forum: The History of Local Farming” on Monday Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.at the Madison Historical Society building on South Street, Madison.
FFA students from Madison Central School will interview local farmers in the audience to tell about how farming was done in the past two generations as opposed to what FFA students are learning today. A PowerPoint will present vintage pictures of farms and their historical information, farm technology used (horses, maybe?) and the people who farmed.
The public is invited to this forum to learn, participate and have fun. It is hoped the FFA can take information from each farmstead to develop stories for a book to use as a fundraiser. Please support them by attending this event.
