(Morrisville, NY – Oct. 2012) Don’t forget about our annual pumpkin coloring contest; it ends Saturday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m., so be sure to get your entry in by then.

We are having fun in the jungle Friday, Oct. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we learn about the rain forest animals and we celebrate World Rainforest Week.

Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. our writer’s group will meet again. Get your creative juices flowing in this fun group. Call Josie Howlett at 315.893.7032 or Cathy Nagle at 315.527.1627 for more information. If you can’t make that day, join them Nov. 3.

Come learn Tai Chi Chuan with Morrisville State College Professor William S. Snyder Monday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. He will be doing this class for free every Monday, so, teens and adults, this is your chance to learn this and have fun. If you cannot make that day, he will be at the library again Monday, Oct. 29.

Kiddies Korner, will meet again Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 9:30 a.m. for a visit with Smokey Bear. Bring your toddler or preschool child in for stories and more. If you can’t make that day, join us Oct. 30 to celebrate Halloween.

Join us for our annual Halloween Party Friday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. Wear your costumes and join us for a spooky celebration. We will not only announce the winner of the pumpkin coloring contest, but play fun games and make cool crafts, too.

Join us as we celebrate National Author’s Day Friday, Nov. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy some snacks as we write our own group story.

Our next book talk will be Friday, Nov. 9, at 12:15 p.m. The book being discussed this month is Susan Vreeland’s Clara & Mr. Tiffany. Bring your lunch and join in the discussion. Copies can be picked up now.

Michelle Rounds is library manager for the Morrisville Public Library. The library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

November Programs Scheduled

The following programs have been scheduled in Nov. at the Morrisville Public Library.

Closures:  We will be closed Monday, Nov. 12 in observation of Veteran’s Day and Nov. 22-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

National Author’s Day:  Join us Friday, Nov. 2 at 6:30pm to celebrate National Author’s Day.  Enjoy some snacks as we write our own group story!

Writer’s Group:  Adults, get those creative juices flowing and join our writer’s group. The group will meet Saturday, Nov. 3 and 17 from 1pm-3pm. Call Josie Howlett at 893-7032 or Cathy Nagle at 527-1627 for more information.

Tai Chi Chuan Class:  Come learn Tai Chi Chuan with instructor Bill Snyder. Classes will be held Mondays, Nov. 5, 19, and 26 from 6:30pm-8pm.

Kiddies Korner:  Bring the little ones Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 9:30am-10:30am and make your own drum!

Book Talk:  Fall is the perfect time to settle in with a good book. Join us for our book talk Friday, Nov. 9 at 12:15pm. The book being discussed is Susan Vreeland’s Clara & Mr. Tiffany.  Bring your lunch and join in the discussion.  Copies can be picked up the beginning of October.

Family Board Game Night:  Bring the whole family Friday, Nov. 9 at 6:30pm to enjoy some popcorn and play some board games!

Kiddies Korner:  Bring the little ones Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 9:30am-10:30am and read about Cats & Kittens!

Library Board Meeting:  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:30pm.

America Recycles Day:  Come join us Friday, Nov. 16 at 6:30pm and celebrate America Recycles Day. Learn about recycling and how it can make our community a cleaner and more beautiful place!

Kiddies Korner:  Bring the little ones Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 9:30am-10:30am and read some favorite Arthur the Aardvark stories!

Zoomobile:  Join us Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 1:00pm when the Utica Zoo brings a few of their animals for us to see, learn about, and even touch!

Kiddies Korner:  Bring the little ones Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 9:30am-10:30am for Books I’m Thankful For!

Movie Night:  Join us for popcorn and the film, Arthur Christmas, on Friday, Nov. 30 at 6:00pm.  This Christmas film isn’t about an aardvark, but Santa, his dysfunctional family and a Christmas in jeopardy.  Start the holiday season by bringing the family to see this creative, comical film with us!
