(Cazenovia) On Oct. 5 The Pewter Spoon Café and Eatery opened in the old Key Bank building at 87 Albany St. in Cazenovia.

This central location just east of the Lincklaen House on US Route 20 is already a popular meeting place for local residents.

Owner Pat Carmeli, a realtor with Realty USA, which shares a door with the café, found the space near her office and envisioned a lovely community meeting place in the form of the café and eatery.

There are freshly baked homemade desserts to go with the coffee, lattes, cappuccinos and tea. Also offered are a wide variety of sandwiches, paninis, salads and always a fresh soup of the day.

There is free internet access for those who like to work on their computers as well as a seating area for those who want to read their Madison County Courier with their morning coffee.

The menu also includes lots of choices for vegetarians, and exclusively serves Gimme! Coffee, which comes from a small company in Ithaca.

The café is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
