(Town of Eaton, NY – Oct. 2012) On Saturday, Oct. 20, the 15th annual Eaton 5K was held in Eaton; 47 runners participated.

The weather was perfect – partly sunny and in the low 50s, bringing 35 race-day signups.

Jason Pare, 40, of Rome, was the overall winner with a time of 19:31. Lynn Hart, 42, of Cazenovia, was the overall female winner with a finish of 20:01.

The Eaton 5K is USATF-certified and -sanctioned; it was No. 20 in the Route 20 Road Challenge Series this year. Route 20 Challenge winners were Dave and Connie Bocko, Mark Ruane, Dick Benner, Ralph Rathbun and Craig North.

Congratulations to all the winners and to Sheree Dorrance of Eaton for completing her first 5K.

Thank you to the Eaton Fire Department and Madison County Sheriff’s Office for their expert assistance with the race again this year.
