(Oneida, NY – Nov. 2012) Just in time for some early holiday season shopping, the Oneida Nation Elders Program hosts a craft and bake sale Friday, Nov. 9.  It runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ray Elm Children and Elders Center.

The sale features native and non-native crafts provided by a series of vendors.  Each vendor also donates an item to be raffled at the event.  Visitors looking for some great food items can purchase homemade baked goods, soups, chili, and an Oneida specialty, fry bread.

Money raised at the craft and bake sale helps pay for Oneida Nation Elders Program trips and special events, like the annual Christmas dinner.  Elders involved in the program take an active role in planning and staffing the craft and bake sale, which is open to the public.

For more information, call Tammy Patterson at (315) 829-8135. The Ray Elm Children and Elders Center is located in the Village of the White Pines on Union Street, approximately 3 miles south of the intersection of Routes 5 and 46 in Oneida.
