(Wampsville, NY – Nov. 2012) This past spring, Madison County released a free set of maps entitled the “Trails of Madison County” that are for year-round use. Limited supplies of these printed maps are still available.
Snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, bird watchers, snowshoe enthusiasts and others can enjoy these trails in the glistening snow of winter.
A great addition to the printed trail maps are square bar codes called QR tags or Quick Response codes that work with smart phones to access additional information. QR tags for local restaurants and businesses, DEC maps, associated Facebook pages, wildlife guides and more are included in the set of trail maps.
You can also view the maps digitally, by simply downloading an “ArcGISonline” application to your Smart Phone.
Stay healthy and fit this winter enjoying the great outdoors.
The entire set of maps are also online at MadisonTourism.com and www.madisoncounty.ny.gov/planning/trails.
Explore the trails of Madison County all through the year!
