(Town of Lebanon, NY – Nov. 24, 2012_ Madison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a serious two-car motor vehicle accident that occurred shortly before 1 p.m. this afternoon, at the intersection of River Road and Chamberlain Road in the Madison County Town of Lebanon.

A vehicle operated by Courtney L. Mills, 30, of Sherburne was heading north on River Road when Mills lost control of her vehicle and went into the southbound lane due to slippery roads. As this was happening, a vehicle operated by Minnie H. Hook, 34, of Lebanon struck Mills’ vehicle broad side on the passenger side of the vehicle. Mills’ front seat passenger was her 7-year-old niece, Abigail Seaton of Eaton.

Seaton was in critical condition at the scene. An air ambulance was called for but could not fly due to adverse weather conditions. Seaton was transported to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse with multiple internal injuries. Her condition has been upgraded to serious by doctors at the time of this press release.

Mills and Hook were transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton with what is described for both as several non-life threatening injuries.

All involved were wearing seatbelts. Airbags in both vehicles deployed.

Mills has been ticketed for failure to keep right.

Eaton Fire Department, Hamilton Fire Department, Morrisville Fire Department, SOMAC, Eaton and Sherburne Ambulances and Hamilton Police provided assistance on the scene.
