Hamilton Public Library News
(Hamilton, NY – Dec. 2012) The library was happy to host local author Cheryl Pula Saturday, Nov. 17. Cheryl’s program included a presentation about the Eighth Air Force, with particular focus on B-17 aircraft, along with a book signing. Several program attendees had personal connections to the Eighth Air Force. The program was well-attended, and we wish Cheryl well with her fourth book about the Eighth Air Force, hopefully being published later this winter.
As part of Santa’s visit at The Palace Theater Saturday, Dec. 1, from 3 to 6 p.m., I will be on hand to share a special holiday story hour. The story hour will run from 3 to 4 p.m., but Santa will still be visiting until 6 p.m.
For more information about Santa’s visit, call The Palace Theater at 315.824.1420.
Hamilton Public Library’s annual Wish Tree is now on display. There are book titles and program materials for children and teens that may be purchased for our library collection. Each book purchased through Wish Tree donations will have a special bookplate and donors have the first-read option. This is a fine opportunity for you to honor someone special or to remember loved ones.
On Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to noon, the library will host a celebration in honor of the classic novel The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkein, and the release of the upcoming movie by the same title. Our celebration will feature Hobbit trivia, riddles, contests, prizes and more. Refreshments provided, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Be on the look-out for more information as the event draws near.
