(Oneida, NY – Dec. 2012) A local holiday tradition, “Share A Caring Christmas” will be held on Saturday Dec. 8 this year at the Nye Ford dealership on Route 5 in Oneida.

For almost three decades, Share A Caring Christmas has been organized by WMCR FM 106.3 “Mix 106” and the Nye Auto Group.

Local residents are asked to bring unwrapped toys to the event.  Toys collected are distributed to needy families with the help of the Salvation Army.  Toys donated can be new toys or used toys in good condition.

Mix 106 will broadcast live from Share A Caring Christmas from 10 a.m. though 1 p.m.

A full lineup of local entertainment has been scheduled, including numerous school groups from the Oneida, VVS, Chittenango, Stockbridge Valley, DeRuyter and Rome school districts, as well as St. Patrick’s School.

Fritz’s Polka Band and the Oneida Suzuki violin students will also be performing.

Refreshments donated by local merchants will be served.

Santa Claus will be in attendance to greet children, and will once again be bringing live reindeer!

You don’t need to wait until the 8th to bring toys to Nye Ford.  They can be dropped off at the dealership during regular business hours and at the Route 5 Oneida office of Americu Credit Union.

Local groups and organizations who wish to help the effort by collecting toys are encouraged to do so, and anyone wishing to volunteer to help at the event should contact Joel Meltzer or Darlene Boncella at Mix 106 by calling 363-6050.
