To the Editor:
(Chittenango, NY – Dec. 2012) I’d like to thank the Madison County Board of Supervisors for voting to restore funding in the 2013 budget to nonprofits and especially, libraries. It is a difficult budget year and they were faced with many hard choices, but I believe that investing in nonprofits is the best way to ensure a good quality of life for all of the residents of our county.
As I listened to the testimony of the many people who spoke at the public hearings in Wampsville Nov. 27, I realized that most, if not all of the groups represented that day are involved with the public libraries on some level, whether it be using space for meetings and training, to advertising their services, to connecting with clients or for research and display of final projects.
I look forward to continuing to work with all of these groups to provide the best quality of service possible and applaud the supervisors for their efforts to ensure that we can all continue to operate at full capacity in 2013.
