(Town of Lincoln, NY – Dec. 2012) Supervisor James Goldstein (D – Lebanon), chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors Solid Waste and Recycling Committee, announced recently that Madison County entered into a contract with a firm that converts agriculture and other plastics to oil; these materials will be collected at the landfill site and transfer stations throughout the county as a first step toward creation of a regional facility to recycle them in Madison County.

Goldstein urges the public to utilize this opportunity and encourage others with a commitment to recycling to do the same.

“The benefits in reduced costs, potential county use of low-sulphur diesel fuel, protected landfill space, recycling and jobs are very promising,” Goldstein said.
