Community Action Partnership News
(Madison County, NY – Dec. 2012) On Tuesday, Dec. 18, the Fatherhood Initiative of Community Action Partnership of Madison County will be hosting a Family Fun night at the Fayetteville Friendly’s Restaurant, 501 E. Genesee St., from 5 to 8 p.m. Friendly’s will be giving a portion of the evening’s purchases back to the Fatherhood Program. The proceeds from this event will help Madison County families by supporting the Fatherhood Initiative’s new Fatherhood Mentoring Program in 2013. All proceeds benefit the local program.
CAP’s Fatherhood Initiative provides additional support for dads from the start. The program is a safe place for fathers to ask questions, get support and to talk about how to be a positive part of the parenting process. In addition, fathers can learn about resources for health, wellness and other community support to help with the stressors of being a parent and supporting a family.
Lenny Giardino, Fatherhood Initiative coordinator says research indicates the presence of a father in a child’s life increases academic achievement and long-term success for the child.
Join CAP Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Fayetteville Friendly’s to help make a difference. If you cannot make the event and wish to donate to the program, call or visit Community Action Partnership at 315.684.3144 or www.capmadco.org.
