(Oneida, NY – Jan. 2013) Zonta International is a service organization of women striving to advance the status of women and to raise awareness of violence against women and girls around the world.

As a local service project, the Zonta Club of the Oneida Area purchases and donates sweat suits to the Oneida Healthcare Emergency Department to be used for women who are victims of violence and sexual assault.

“In these situations, clothing may be kept by law enforcement as evidence and this way the ED staff can provide clean, warm clothing to these women,” said club president Mary Manfredo.

While Christmas time is when the club makes a major donation, items are donated at various times throughout the year.
