(Oneida County, NY – Feb. 2013) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County’s Agriculture staff continues its winter time series of group learning opportunities for local dairy producers called “Shop Meetings.”

The objective of the series, which will be hosted by local dairy producers and held in their heated workshops, is to keep Oneida County dairy producers informed of timely issues affecting their business, learn about helpful resources available at Cooperative Extension, and to encourage conversation  and sharing among dairy producers.

The next Shop Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday Feb. 27 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and will be held at Collins Knoll Farm, located at 9499 Elm St. Chadwicks. Potential topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to, the use of rye cover crops for spring forage harvest and the importance of cow comfort.

There is no fee to attend the Shop Meeting, but reservations are appreciated by calling 736-3394 ext. 132.  Light refreshments will be provided.
