(Oneida, NY – March 2013) Oneida City Acting Mayor Max Smith, will address the Oneida Area AARP Chapter 3328. This was first done in 2012 with then Mayor Donald Hudson, and it was well received by the members present.

The local AARP group will meet on Wednesday March 13 at St. Paul’s Church, 551 Sayles St., Oneida at 1:30 p.m.  (Use the lower driveway).

On the agenda for the day will be the appointment of a committee to arrange the banquet in June for the Installation of Officers’ for the next year. This is the time when the Nominating Committee begins its work on the new slate of officers for the 2013-2014 year.  Members who may be asked to fill an office are encouraged to accept, fulfilling the Motto “It is better to Serve, than to be Served.”

Following the committee reports and the recognition of members who have had birthdays and anniversaries, there will be a time for refreshments, consisting of coffee, tea and cookies.

Anyone age 50 and older, who may be a National AARP member, is encouraged to join the local chapter.  Dues are $5 per year per member and applications are available by attending a local Chapter meeting or calling the Membership Chairperson, Isa Wojsiat at 280.4685.
