To the Editor:

(Bridgeport, NY -March 2013) All of us at Madison County Habitat for Humanity would like to extend our thanks to everyone who came out Sunday, March 3, to help us celebrate the completion of our renovations at our Hamilton Brown Road house in Bridgeport.

Habitat has spent approximately the last 18 months renovating this house to prepare it for a family in need of decent, affordable housing. Our families work alongside HFH and other volunteers as they put “sweat equity” into their home.

Houses are sold at no profit, with no interest charged on the mortgage.

We would like to extend special thanks to the volunteers who put in countless hours and to many local businesses whose donations helped make this possible.

Pastor Yang from the Bridgeport United Methodist Church did a wonderful job with the dedication of the house for the Moon family as they prepare to move in to their new home.

Madison County Habitat for Humanity is now on to our next adventure, trying to raise enough money to build brand new houses in Chittenango; there are still plenty of opportunities to volunteer – even when we aren’t swinging hammers.
