Hamilton Public Library News

By Hilary Virgil

(Hamilton, NY – March 2013Hilary Virgil for web) The library was happy to host guest presenter Cheryl Pula Feb. 27. Cheryl outlined many similarities and coincidences between Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy. The program was well-attended and we hope to offer similar events here in the future.

In the meantime, readers may be interested in borrowing the book Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, written by Jennifer Chiaverin. This new addition to our historical fiction collection centers on the relationship between the first lady and a former slave.

You won’t want to miss the ever-popular Buy-One-Get-One-Free Sale table across from the circulation desk. Come see our offerings to add to your home movie collection.

Another reminder that we are looking for artwork for the Community Art Show. If interested in participating, please bring your art or craft submission to the library during our regular hours between Monday, March 25, and Saturday, March 30. Entry forms will be available at the circulation desk and should accompany all artwork.

We are still looking for volunteers to help with arranging the displays for this art exhibit April 1 or 2. If you are able to volunteer your time and talents, please contact me.

The Friends of the Library will host a reception for the Community Art Show Thursday, April 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. We hope you’ll join us.
