(Auroa, NY – April 6, 2013) Morrisville State College men’s lacrosse posMorrisville State Lacrosse logoted their second straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory, cruising to a 18-5 win over host Wells College Saturday afternoon in Aurora.

The win pulls the Mustangs to 3-5 overall, 3-1 in NEAC play. Wells continues to look for their first win and drop to 0-7 overall, 0-3 in the conference.

Ten different Mustangs posted scores on the day, including John Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) and AJ Donoghue (Rochester, N.Y.) who added four apiece to lead the Mustangs in goal scoring.

Casey Jean (Tully, N.Y.) added two goals, and registered a collegiate best five assists for seven points.

Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded the win in net, recording no saves in the opening quarter, before Tyler Catalfano (Rochester, N.Y.) appeared between the pipes for the following 27 minutes of play. Catalfano turned away four.

Nate Bourdeau (Fayetteville, N.Y.) played the final 18 in net, registering one save.

Daniel Munsell posted three scores for Wells and Connor Jansen two goals and two assists, while teammate Tyler Bischoff posted the loss in goal, recording 19 saves as Morrisville State held the 54-16 advantage in shots.

Jansen stunned the Mustangs just 18 seconds into the contest with the first tally of the day, before Donoghue ignited a Morrisville State offensive blitz with a tally from Jean at the 11:41 mark. Within seconds, Jean added another for the 2-1 advantage and Morrisville State went on to add five additional scores to close out the opening quarter with a 7-1 lead.

Morrisville State added four additional scores in the second quarter to break open the contest to a 11-2 halftime lead, before dominating the third and fourth quarters en route to the conference win.

Morrisville State dominated the ground ball battle, 48-33, with Jeffrey Andresen (Ocean City, Md.) collecting nine for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs also controlled the center stripe, winning 19-of-27 face-offs, and forced 28 Express miscues on the day to their own 14.

Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to SUNY Brockport for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
