(Herkimer, NY— April 2013) Herkimer County Community College will hold its inaugural High School Film Festival on Saturday, April 20 at noon in the Television Production Studio, located in room 109 of the Technology Center.

Twenty seven films have been accepted for screening at the festival. Sponsored by the Herkimer County College Foundation, cash prizes will be awarded in five categories: comedy, drama, music video, documentary and best overall. Students in grades 9through 12 from throughout New York State were eligible to submit films produced between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013. The work has been judged by HCCC faculty and local video professionals.

HCCC offers a variety of digital media programs including Radio-Television Broadcasting, Digital Filmmaking, Communication Arts: New Media and Music Industry.
