(Oneida, NY – April 2013) The Oneida Indian Nation Recreation Department invites boys from across the community to participate in its spring varsity lacrosse program.  The program is for boys in grades 9-12 and is free to join.

Each Thursday from April 25 through May 30, practice will be held at the Oneida Nation’s lacrosse box, gymnasium or outdoor field from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  The open time will help players to develop lacrosse skills such as scooping, cradling, passing, catching, shooting and footwork.  Participants must sign a waiver and provide their own lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, cleats, mouthguard and athletic protector.

The Oneida Nation Recreation Department field and gymnasium are located on Territory Road in Oneida, approximately 3 miles south from the intersection of Routes 5 and 46.

Registration and waiver forms must be completed by a parent or guardian prior to their child’s first practice.  To register, call the Oneida Nation Recreation Department at (315) 829-8484.Lacrosse_sticks3
