(Cazenovia, NY – June 2013) Cazenovia College’s 2013 Summer Art Series will host a demonstration of products for artists who work with pastels on Saturday June 29 from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, in conjunction with the summer show, “Pastel Artists of Central New York.” Sharon Blair, of Commercial Art Supply in Syracuse, will show the techniques and applications of the various types of pastels and papers. The demonstration is free and open to the public.
The exhibition, “Pastel Artists of Central New York,” features work by more than 30 artists, including Jane Woodruff Carroll, of Cazenovia; and Mary Padgett, of New Woodstock, N.Y. On Saturday, July 13, 1-2 p.m., a Gallery Exhibition Tour, with Pastel Artist Mary Padgett, will offer guests a critique of the paintings in the exhibition. The closing reception, Sunday, August 4, from 1-4 p.m. will feature the “People’s Choice Award.”

The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, 6 Sullivan St., is on the corner of Sullivan and Seminary streets in Cazenovia. All exhibitions are free and open to the public, and the gallery is handicapped accessible. Summer Art Series hours are Friday, 6-8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
