Activities Include “Udderly” Fun Events, Giveaways and Contests

(Nov. 6, 2013) Ever meet a real dairy farmer? Want to know what being a dairy farmer is all about? Here’s your chance. More than 75 New York State and New England dairy farmers, clad in red and black plaid, are visiting the Big Apple on Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to personally thank New Yorkers of all ages for their loyalty and support during the first-ever Cabot Dairy Farmer Gratitude Tour.

Among those farmers will be Ben Banker and Corrine Banker of Blue Hill Farm in Morrisville.

Coach buses – wrapped in signature Cabot plaid – will travel throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn dropping off the farmers at 75 central locations, including local New York City food markets.

Giveaways, award-winning cheese tastings, and an “a-moo-zing” Instagram #CabotFarmers Photo Contest – prizes include Cabot coupons, Cabot Cheddar Gift Baskets, and a “farmstay” vacation at Liberty Hill Farm in Vermont – are just some of the down home ways they’ll be saying thanks.

Dairy experts will also retrace the steps of Manhattan’s former cow path that runs up and down Broadway.
