Oneida Public Library is offering up a double serving of after-school programs for elementary-school students the week of May 9: After-School Art: Gift for Grandma on Tuesday, May 10, at 4:00 p.m. and After-school Science: A Pop-up Grocery Tour on Wednesday, May 11, at 4:00 p.m.

After-School Art will provide the materials and guidance for students to create gifts and personalized greeting cards just for their grandmothers. Following Mother’s Day, which usually focuses on the “moms,” the program will allow the children to give special attention to the “other” women in their lives.

On Wednesday, May 11, educators from Eat Smart NY at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County will show students (and parents) how to be smart supermarket shoppers in order to save money and make healthier food choices. They will also offer samples of tasty and healthful snacks.

The May 11 program is Part 1 of Eat Smart’s Pop-up Grocery Tour in Oneida. Part 2 will be held at the OPL on Monday, May 23, at 4:00 p.m.

For more information about these free after-school programs, stop by the Oneida Library, 220 Broad St., call (315) 363-3050 or consult the OPL web site at www.midyorklib.org/oneida.
