Tonight Claudia Tenney won the Republican nomination for Congress in New York’s 22nd district, thanked her supporters and previewed the campaign ahead:
“I am honored and humbled that the people of this district have entrusted me to lead them. I am grateful to the hundreds of supporters who contributed their time and money to our grassroots campaign. I am cannot thank my great staff enough.
Like I have always done in Albany, I will tell the truth, fight for regular people and provide independent, conservative leadership in this campaign and in Congress.
We need leaders in Washington who will for advocate for policies to revitalize manufacturing, protect family farms and stand up to leaders in both parties. For families and small business owners, it’s not Republican versus Democrat, its elites in both parties in Washington against the rest of us. In Congress, I’ll work with anyone in good faith, but I will provide independent leadership. The future can be bright again, but we must change the type of people we send to Washington.
