Players of Utica is holding open auditions for the upcoming show “Agnes of God” – set to open in February 2017.
Auditions will be held at the Players of Utica theatre, 1108 State St., Utica, Monday, Nov. 28, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.
Roles:
- Dr. Martha Livingstone – 30s-40s – a psychiatrist
- Mother Miriam Ruth – 40s+ – Mother Superior of the convent
- Agnes – 20s – a novice nun, an innocent, some singing required
Actors will be asked to read from scenes from the play.
Show Dates:
- Evening Shows: Feb. 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday Matinees: Feb. 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.
About the Play
Dr. Livingstone is investigating the death of a newborn baby, given birth by Sister Agnes in the convent. Agnes seems to know nothing of the birth. Mother Miriam wants only to protect Agnes, while Dr. Livingstone, a fallen Catholic, wants only to find the truth of what happened.
