Oneida police patchThe Oneida Police Department is investigating a personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday evening, Nov. 26, 2016, at approx. 5 PM. The accident occurred at the intersection of Rt. 46 and Rt. 5. A pedestrian who was crossing in the crosswalk at that intersection was struck by a pick-up which was proceeding northbound on Rt. 46 and then turned eastbound onto Rt. 5. The pick-up truck, which left the scene of the accident, is described as being either white or gray in color. The Oneida Police Department is looking to speak with any possible witnesses or anybody who may have information regarding this accident.

On November 23, 2016, Teresa M. Joslyn, 27, of 122 Vanderbilt Ave., Oneida, was arrested for petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 23, 2016, Parker J. Cummings, 18, of 4065 Pine Ridge Rd., Canastota, was arrested for petit larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 23, 2016, Stacy L. Scalzo, 36, of 6309 Creek Rd., Oneida, was arrested for 2 counts of petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 25, 2016, William J. Bush, 33, of 211 West Park St., Canastota, was arrested for criminal contempt in the first degree, harassment in the second degree and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Oneida City Court and ordered held in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

On November 26, 2016, Zachary H. Millson, 18, 0f 1014 Maplewood Ave., Oneida was arrested for unlawful possession of marihuana. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 27, 2016, Robert R. Crouse, 35, of 208 Allen St., Oneida was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree and passing a red light. He was issued uniform traffic tickets and is to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 28, 2016, a 17 year old male was issued a traffic ticket for consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marihuana and possession of alcohol while under 21. He is to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 28, 2016, Michael S. Loveless, 39, of 144 Canal St., Canastota, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree and speeding. He was issued uniform traffic tickets and is to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

On November 15, 2016, members of the Oneida Police Department were called to a residence regarding a suspicious chemical smell. Upon arrival, officers noted signs of a possible meth lab operation. A search warrant was subsequently obtained and with the assistance of the New York State Police CCERT team, the residence was searched whereupon evidence of meth manufacturing was found. As a result of this investigation, William D. Hopkins, 23, of 585 Tubbs Rd. in Waterville was arrested for possession of a precursor with knowledge it would be used to manufacture meth. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.  Also arrested was Kimberly A. Humble, 33, of 362 Stone St., Oneida. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, unlawful manufacture of meth in the third degree, criminal possession of precursors of meth, criminal possession of meth manufacture materials in the first degree, criminal possession of meth manufacture in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7 th degree, possession of hypodermic instruments and reckless endangerment in the second degree. She was arraigned in Oneida City Court and remanded in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

On November 30, 2016, Jay A. Block, 69, of 507 Mayberry Rd., Rome, was arrested for failure to obey a traffic control device, having a suspended registration, operating without insurance and having improper plates. He is to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.
