Anderson named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week for third time

The North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners in women’s lacrosse, naming Morrisville State College senior defender, Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston) the Defensive Player of the Week for a third time this season.

Anderson played a big role in a 2-1 week for the Mustangs, as they opened NEAC play with a 2-0 record, collecting wins over Hilbert and Medaille.

In the early week non-conference match at Utica, Anderson picked up six ground balls, collected four draw controls and caused three turnovers, adding a goal and two assists in the efforts.

On Friday, she collected four ground balls, added two caused turnovers, while adding three draw controls and two goals. She wrapped up her week with a team-high 10 ground balls on the road at previously unbeaten Medaille College, causing another team-high seven turnovers, while collecting five draw controls and adding another two goals to the Mustangs win.

On the week the senior collected 20 ground balls (6.67/gm), caused 12 turnovers (4.0/gm), 12 draw controls (4.0/gm), and netted seven points on five goals and two assists.

A graduate of Unadilla Valley High, Anderson is finishing her degree in human performance and health promotion at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Wendy and Steve Anderson of West Edmeston.
