Today Claudia Tenney for Congress released fundraising numbers covering January, February and March showing Rep. Claudia Tenney beginning the 2017-2018 cycle with a strong $275,000 raised and over $310,000 cash on hand.

“My focus remains standing up for the middle-class families, small businesses and family farms in upstate New York and undoing failed liberal policies that help the wealthy and politically-connected, but hurt the rest of us,” said Rep. Claudia Tenney. “Fundraising is an important part of building the resources necessary to fight off the false, negative attacks sadly too common in politics— attacks that are already coming from liberal billionaires, Washington special interests and their allies in the press.  Regardless of what is thrown at me, I will always stand strong for the hard-working people of upstate New York. It is a distinct honor to serve the people of the 22nd District, and I will continue to fight for them in Congress every day.

As a testament to Tenney’s strong grassroots support, Tenney raised $845,000 in the 2015-2016 election cycle and was outspent more than 10 to 1 in primary and general election campaigns. Despite the financial disparity, Tenney still achieved decisive victories in both elections.  That grassroots support, coupled with strong early fundraising, should serve as a deterrent to potential 2018 challengers.

The owner of a small manufacturing business, lawyer and mother of an active duty Marine officer, Rep. Tenney continues to provide independent leadership in Washington, fighting for New York jobs and middle class families, attacking corruption, rebuilding our military, keeping our promises to seniors and protecting America’s veterans.

  1. While Rep. Tenney says that her “focus remains standing up for the middle-class families, small businesses and family farms in upstate New York” the detailed list of contributors to her 2018 campaign tell a very different story…Goldman Sacs, the Koch brothers, oil companies, hedge fund executives. Tenney, like Trump, says one thing and does another. All of her votes to date have been to “help the wealthy and politically-connected, but hurt the rest of us”. We need a congressperson in NY 22 who will actually represent us, rather than the incumbent who ignores her constituents and is willing to sell herself to the highest bidder.

  2. I have yet to see a vote by Tenney that does anything to support the working classes in this area. Looking at her political donations, I can see why.

  3. She appears to be far more successful at fundraising than meeting with her constituents. Apparently, she doesn’t consider any of her wealthy contributors to be “paid protestors,” so I’m sure she has plenty of time to meet with them.
