The 11 member churches of the Canastota Area Association of Churches have organized a local observance of the National Day of Prayer at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the United Church of Canastota on Center Street.
The gathering’s purpose is to lift up our nation to God for his guidance, mercy and blessing in these challenging times.
Local pastors and church leaders will lead specific topics, inviting spontaneous or prepared prayers from everyone in attendance.
The program will open and close with music and singing and is expected to last only an hour and a quarter.
All concerned residents are invited, especially those with civic responsibilities who are concerned to realize better outcomes in our community.
