The American Red Cross is observing Armed Forces Day with a Military Family Salute and Reconnection Lunch on Saturday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m. at VFW Post 1975, 44 East Genesee St., Auburn.

A chicken barbecue lunch will be provided.

The event is free for all military families, active duty service members, veterans and reservists. In addition to a complimentary lunch, attendees will have an opportunity to meet other local military families, learn about additional Red Cross services, as well as what services are available from other organizations.

The keynote speaker is Jim Green, Syracuse program lead for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. The non-profit organization is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.
