Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica today issued the following statement, reacting to the announcement from Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand that the current Army Financial Management Optimization Pilot Program has ended, with no changes or job reductions planned in the immediate future for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services in Rome.
“This announcement today came in no small part to years of collaboration between Senators Schumer and Gillibrand. DFAS has long had an extremely productive and efficient operation at Rome, and both Senators did an excellent job getting that message across to their colleagues on the Armed Services Committee. The vital work being done at DFAS will continue uninterrupted, and the very positive effect this facility has on the Mohawk Valley’s economy will continue.”
