On July 5, 2017, Mandy L. Pope, 27, 138 N. Court St., Wampsville, was charged with manslaughter in the second degree for an incident alleged to have occurred January 25, 2017, in which the defendants’ 1-month-old daughter was found unresponsive at their home on Lenox Ave. in the City of Oneida.

A joint investigation followed which involved personnel from the Oneida Police Department, the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Madison County Child Advocacy Center.

The findings of that joint investigation were presented to the Madison County Grand Jury, who subsequently indicted the defendant on the charge indicated. The defendant was arraigned in Madison County Court where she was ordered held in the Madison County Public Safety Building Jail pending further court action.

  • Katherine A. Joslyn, 29, 5356 Canal St., Durhamville, was issued an appearance ticket for exposure of a person and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.

July 6, 2017

  • Gage S. Dwyer, 21, 302 Boston St., Oneida, was issued an appearance ticket for menacing in the 3 rd degree and criminal mischief in the 3 rd degree.
  • David P. Rinaldo,50, 120 Madison St., apt. 3, Oneida, was arrested on a bench warrant alleging that he failed to appear on an original charge of failure to register (sex offender). He was arraigned in Madison County Court where he was sentenced to 6 months in the Madison County Jail.

July 7, 2017

  • Kurt C. Merithew, 37, 513 Elizabeth St., Oneida was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of petit larceny and on a separate bench warrant for failure to appear on original charges of aggravated unlicensed operator in the third degree and various other vehicle and traffic law offenses. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. He was arraigned in Oneida City Court and ordered held on a total of $1350 cash or $3000 bond.
  • Jamie M. Randall, 20, 10393 Old Wolcott Rd., Camden was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and possession of a hypodermic instrument.
  • Jennifer C. Bex, 28, 6359 E. Seneca Trpk., Jamesville, was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.
