The Herkimer College Children’s Center will be open all year, beginning this fall. Openings are available for children from age 18 months to five years old starting Monday, Aug. 28.

The Children’s Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and offers quality care and a nurturing learning environment for children of students, college employees and the general public. The Center also serves as a laboratory site for authentic learning experiences for students enrolled in Herkimer College’s early childhood education program.

Daily hours are 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch and snack are included.

Previously, the Children’s Center was open only during the academic year.

“According to the voices of our current and prospective working parents, there is a great interest and need for us to provide all year round child care services,” said Child Care Center Director Pam Mazzorana. “Parents have expressed concern having to find alternate care for their child for the summer. They are genuinely happy with the quality care and nurturing learning environment we provide to their children. I am proud to say that we listened to them and are acting on their needs and the need for our program to prosper and grow.”
