Recently, Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I-New Hartford) met with local veterans at the annual West Winfield VFW Post #2338 picnic. Miller spent the evening learning where many of the vets served and in what capacity, including a veteran who drove a landing craft onto Omaha Beach on D-Day during WWII.

The assemblyman also spoke about current legislation he sponsors to help veterans along with his current tour of the district to meet veterans and discuss their needs and concerns. He also took questions from the 30-plus vets on hand about current and future legislation.

“Going out in my district and meeting our veterans is one of the greatest honors for me as an assemblyman,” said Miller. “We wouldn’t enjoy the freedoms we do today if not for their service. I am proud to be traveling the district to meet with veterans groups and discuss current legislation to benefit them, but more importantly, discuss what more can and should be done. It is imperative that we have input from the men and women that we wish to help. I want to know their needs so that I can craft legislation to serve them as well as they have served us.”

Assemblyman Miller represents the 101st District consisting of parts of Delaware, Herkimer, Oneida, Orange, Otsego, Sullivan and Ulster counties. For more information, please visit Assemblyman Miller’sOfficial Website.
