Proceeds to benefit Food Bank of Central New York

On Saturday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 10 p.m., members of the Madison County Farm Bureau will host the third annual celebrity bartending night at Owera Vineyards. All tips generated at the event will benefit Food Bank of Central New York. In addition, Owera Vineyards will donate 20 percent of sales at the event to the Food Bank. Attendees will be able to enjoy local wines, beer samples and hard cider along with great food. Music will be performed by The Old Clay Stone.

“The Farm Bureau is an important partner to the Food Bank and what better way to increase awareness about our mission than to partner with experts in agricultural and enjoyment,” said Kathleen Stress, executive director of Food Bank of Central New York. “While the event at Owera highlights a local vineyard, it also raises awareness that hunger exists in our local communities and that the Farm Bureau and the Food Bank are working to eliminate hunger for families in need.”

“The Madison County Farm Bureau is excited to once again be partnering with Owera Vineyards and Food Bank of Central New York to help bring awareness of agriculture and the impact it has on our everyday lives,” said Johanna Bossard, promotion and education chair of the Madison County Farm Bureau. “The money raised at this event goes to support those struggling with food insecurity in our local areas and that is something that we at Farm Bureau are very proud of.”

Owera Vineyards is a winery including vines, gardens, ponds and orchards located at 5276 East Lake Road in Cazenovia. Over the past three years, this event has raised $4,094 to help feed the hungry.
