Oneida Public Library

Professional-development specialist Rebecca Lo Kohler will offer middle- and high-school girls the chance to discuss their own very personal educational and career goals in three “Girls Only” sessions at Oneida Public Library next MondayWednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m., Oct. 16, 18 and 19.

Over the three one-hour sessions, Kohler will guide the young adults in exploring their identities, talents and goals in life. She will also help them to develop their own “voices and then listen to them,” while discovering what it is they really want versus what family and friends expect of them.

Kohler has been an admissions director in the State University of New York system as well as director of On Point for College in charge of professional development. Currently, she is Vice-president of Student Services for the Ivy International Education Group. She has spoken on personal and professional development at SUNY Oswego, Syracuse Say Yes!, National College Access Network and the Girls World Expo.

The program is free and open to all middle- and high-school female students. For more information, stop by the Oneida Library, 220 Broad St., or call (315) 363-3050.
