Join local author Wade Lallier as he talks about the Chenango Canal’s history (full of legislative battles and contentious budgets) and what its creation meant for communities throughout Central New York. Stay after the presentation for a book signing with the author!
Local author Wade A. Lallier will present his book, The Chenango Canal, at the Hamilton Public Library Thursday, Oct. 26, from 4 -to 5 pm. The canal’s history is full of legislative battles, contentious budgets, and a long, dramatic struggle, ending in a million-dollar budget, a 97-mile ditch, and lasting change for communities throughout Central New York. Stay after the presentation for a book signing with the author! Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
From Samhain and All Hallow’s Eve to discounted chocolate and spirit stores—teens and adults age 16 and up are invited to join us on Monday, Oct. 30, at 6 pm to learn about how Halloween traditions started, and the different ways people celebrate the holiday now. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
The Hamilton Public Library and Hamilton Village Real Estate are excited to offer the Literary Pumpkin display and contest again this year! You’re invited to decorate a small pumpkin to look like your favorite book character! Please call or visit the Library for entry guidelines. These “literary pumpkins” should be brought to the Hamilton Public Library during regular Library hours between Saturday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 21. Voting for People’s Choice Awards will take place the following week, and the winners will be announced on Halloween!
