The Central New York Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops Team of Cornell Cooperative Extension will be hosting three Equine Forage Quality meetings in early November.
The meetings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening. Horse owners and hay growers attending will learn more about the forage quality needs of their horses or those of their customers, how to assess hay quality through forage testing and how to achieve the desired quality in the field.
Presenters will be Carol Buckhout, Assistant Professor of Equine Business Management at Cazenovia College and Kevin Ganoe, Regional Field Crop Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Central NY Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops Team.
Pre-registration is required; the cost will be $10 per person. Register online with a credit card at cnydfc.cce.cornell.edu/ or by mailing your check to CCE Herkimer County, 5657 State Route 5, Herkimer, NY 13350. Registration must be received one week before the meeting date.

This program qualifies participants for 2 Certified Crop Advisor Crop Management CEUs from the American Society of Agronomy and or 2 Professional Animal Scientist CEUs from the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists depending on their certification.
