Library Closures: We are closed on Saturday November 11 to observe Veteran’s Day. We will also be closed Thursday November 23- Sunday November 26 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.

Giving Tree Fundraiser: Shop for the library this holiday season from Wednesday November 1-Tuesday January 16! We have several items the library needs! It’s EASY! Grab a Christmas tag off our giving tree of something you would like to donate to the library. Buy it, donate it, whatever it says and bring the tag and the item in as soon as you can! We would like all donations turned in by January 31, 2018.

Wine and Paint Night: Join us Friday November 3 at 6:30pm! Open to adults and kids 13 and older! If you don’t drink wine we will have grape juice and of course, goodies for everyone too!  Cost is $30 per person (payable the night of the program).  Reservations are required!  We can have no more than 28 so space is limited! WE WILL NOT TAKE SIGN UPS OVER THE PHONE, EMAIL OR SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU MUST STOP IN TO THE LIBRARY! (We are also taking monetary donations for the wine and goodies for the evening so if you would like to donate, please contact the Library Manager.)

Kiddies Korner: Bring the little ones in on Tuesday November 7 at 10:00am for our preschool story hour! We are having fun with the topic, “Pets!” Stories, finger plays, a craft and more!

Cooking Matters at the Store Pop Up Tour: Want to save money at the store?  Want to buy healthy foods for your family?  Come learn how with a tour of a virtual grocery store!  All participants receive a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart, a reusable grocery bag and more!  Open to 18 and up!  Please sign up if you think you might be able to attend now at the circulation desk.  (We want to make sure we have enough free gifts for each participant!) This event will be on Wednesday November 8 at 6:30pm.

Madison County Veteran, Robert Purple Historic Talk: Join Madison County Historian, Matthew Urtz as he interviews Robert Purple on Friday November 10 at 6:30pm. Purple served in the Air National Guard over a span of five decades.  Early in his career he served under “Nagasaki Charlie” Sweeney, the pilot who flew the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki.  Later in his career, he was called to active duty to serve during a prison riot in Auburn, assist in shipping aid to 3-mile Island uring a meltdown in 1979 and during the 1980 Olympics. He also served in the Gulf War. Bob will talk
about these and other experiences.

Play Mahjong!: Like to play Mahjong? Want to learn how to play without using the computer? Willing to teach young and old! Join the fun at the library! The group meets Monday November 13 and 27 from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Book Talk-The Christmas Train: Looking for a good book to read?  How about joining our book talk as we will be reading, The Christmas Train by David Baldacci on Wednesday November 15 at 6:30pm.

Copies can be picked up now!  Discussion open to teens and adults!  So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!

Library Board Meeting: The Library Board of Trustees meet on Thursday November 16 at 6:30pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Family Movie Night: We provide the popcorn; you bring your own beverage! We will be showing the movie, Cars 3, on Friday November 17 at 7:00pm.

Utica Zoomobile: The Utica Zoo will be bringing a few of their animals for us to see, learn about and touch on Wednesday November 22 at 1:00pm. Bring the family in for a good time with these animals!
